With think-cell images, you can:

• Insert stock images from Brandfolder, Canto, Getty Images, Pexels, and Unsplash as think-cell elements.
• Convert image files and images from the web into think-cell elements.
• Position and resize an image with think-cell's automatic layout (see 14. Introduction to layout).

18.1 Setting up the stock image library

Choose Stock Image from the Elements menu to open the think-cell Library.

The first time you use the library, only the free providers Pexels and Unsplash are listed in the dialog. To edit the provider list, select ⚙Configure Library at the bottom, then use 🞡 or ✕ to add or remove providers. Drag the names of the service providers to reorder them.

Click ⚙Close Configuration when you're finished.

18.1.1 Canto and Getty Images

To use your Canto account or your Premium Access account with Getty Images:

1. In the library, select the name of the provider.
2. If you have not yet granted think-cell access to your Canto or Getty Images account, an authorization prompt opens in your web browser. Select Grant access and provide your account details.

think-cell does not save your account details, just the access token provided by Canto or Getty. For further information, see OAuth on Wikipedia.

18.1.2 Brandfolder

To use your Brandfolder account:

1. Retrieve your Brandfolder API key.
2. Select Brandfolder in the library, then select ⚙Configure Library.
3. In the text field below the search bar, enter the API key and select Connect.

An administrator can customize your company's Brandfolder stock image dialog as needed.

18.2 Inserting a stock photo

To insert a stock photo, choose Stock Image from the Elements menu.

In the think-cell Library, enter a search term and select a stock image provider. Select a result to add the image to your slide.

18.3 Converting an image

To convert bitmap images (e.g., .jpg, .png) into think-cell elements, select one or more images in your slide, and choose Convert Images to think-cell in Tools.

18.4 Inserting an image from a website

Quickly import any image from the web into PowerPoint as a think-cell element using the think-cell browser extension (see 2.2.3 Installing the browser extension).

1. Open the web page containing the image, and select the think-cell extension.
2. Click the image you want to import. PowerPoint will open.

3. On the slide, select where you want to insert the image.

18.5 Positioning and resizing an image

If you manually set an image's position, closed locks and red gridlines appear at its corners. To set the position using think-cell's automatic layout, click the locks to open them.

To override automatic positioning, simply drag the image to the desired position. To override automatic resizing, hold down Ctrl while you drag a resize handle.

To take full advantage of think-cell's automatic layout, open Tools and turn off Lock Positions by Default. See 14. Introduction to layout for more information.

The image is always scaled to fill the blue selection frame. If the aspect ratio doesn't match the image's original dimensions, think-cell automatically crops the image to make it fit. To manually specify the crop region, see 18.6 Cropping an image.

18.6 Cropping an image

Cropping defines what part of an image is most important to you. When resizing a cropped image, you can change its aspect ratio independently of the crop region's original dimensions. The image scales to fill the blue selection frame while keeping the crop region as centered as possible.

To crop a think-cell image:

1. Select the image you want to crop.
2. Select one of the black crop handles on either side or a corner. If you see a double-ended white arrow cursor, move your mouse just inside the selection frame so that you see a black cropping cursor.

3. Drag a crop handle to crop the image from the side, bottom, or top. The crop is applied once you release the mouse button.

You can always restore the original image by using the crop handles again.
