C++ CoreHard Autumn 2018 Conference in Minsk, Belarus 2018

November 2–3, 2018

In November, we sent a small think-cell Team – our CTO, Arno Schödl, Software Developer Andrey T., and Recruiting Manager Yuliya Zh. – to Minsk, Belarus for the C++ CoreHard Autumn 2018 Conference.

It was think-cell's first time attending, and we had a fantastic time, meeting over 250 participants! Our booth quickly became popular, not only to stop by for C++ chats and career questions, but also to pick up some goodies such as our think-cell branded powerbanks and German candy.

Our CTO Arno Schödl was an opening keynote speaker, presenting his new talk “Text Formatting for a Future Range-Based Standard Library”. Arno was happy to stay for a while after his talk to be able to answer all the incoming questions from interested participants.

As one would expect from the C++ CoreHard audience, the post-talk discussion focused primarily on performance, both compile-time and runtime, in comparison with other approaches to text formatting. Later, we also went into some of the design decisions of think-cell's range library.

We would like to whole-heartedly thank the organizers, Anton Naumovich, Alexandr Vasilenok and the team for inviting us, and congratulate them on a successful event! We hope to come back to Belarus again!
