ACCU in Bristol, UK 2025
April 1, 2025
think-cell is excited to continue supporting ACCU 2025, that will be held April 1-4 in Bristol, UK. As a sponsor, we are looking forward to engaging with the C++ community once again and contributing to meaningful discussions around the latest in software development. This year, we are especially excited to sponsor a branded channel video and feature a talk by our Software Engineer Jonathan Müller on “Functional Programming in C++.”
ACCU is one of the most respected conferences for C++ and software engineering professionals, offering a platform for developers to exchange knowledge, discover new techniques, and push the boundaries of what’s possible with C++. We continue to proudly sponsor ACCU to foster a strong, collaborative developer community and remain at the forefront of software development practices.
Jonathan Müller’s talk, "Functional Programming in C++," will introduce functional programming as a declarative approach to writing programs by composing functions. This method can lead to code that is easier to write, understand, and less error-prone. However, adopting a functional mindset requires a shift in thinking. In this session, Jonathan will explore functional programming in C++ using the modern standard library, covering algorithms with std::ranges, composable error handling with std::optional and std::expected, algebraic data types, and separating IO from computation. The talk will also touch on the much-discussed M-word in the context of functional programming.
We wish all participants a great time at the conference and hope that ACCU, as always, offers valuable insights, inspiring conversations, and exciting opportunities for collaboration within the C++ community.
