Meeting C++ in Berlin, Germany

November 17, 2022

Participating in the Meeting C++ conference in Berlin has become a cherished tradition for the think-cell team. This time, our CTO and founder, Arno, was one of the speakers at the opening and shared our story with conference organizers. Did you know that think-cell is the only German company funding a C++ ISO committee delegation?

With around 300 people on-site and a significant online attendance, there were around 500 participants. Those who visited the conference life had the chance to visit us at our booth and talk to our HR and software developers about work, life and open opportunities at think-cell.  as well as get some nice souvenirs.

On the first day, our Senior Software Engineer Sebastian presented “Typescripten — Generating type-safe JavaScript bindings for emscripten”. Compiling C++ to WebAssembly is becoming ever more popular. The emscripten toolchain provides the compiler and the necessary runtime APIs to compile C++ to WebAssembly. It does not provide an elegant way to call JavaScript code from C++ though. Typescripten is a tool we are still actively developing which aims to fill that gap.
