CppIndia online

November 6, 2021

We opened this November with a talk for a new country — think-cell was happy to join CppIndia. As it was our first time working with the South Asia market, we were very excited!

Our Senior Software Developer Sebastian gave his talk, “Windows, macOS and the Web: Lessons from cross-platform development at think-cell.”

After the talk was over, Sebastian said “It was great to be hosted by CppIndia and many people joined, although it was the day of the Bhai Dooj festival!”

The talk summarized the lessons we learned when we moved to programming for multiple operating systems. Many attendees had encountered similar problems, so we could discuss at some length what problems can be solved with code generation tools, what problems can only be solved by developers who understand the task at hand, when it is hard to find good cross-platform abstractions for operating system specific interfaces and for which kind of problems this is relatively easy.

We enjoyed a warm virtual welcome from the C++ community in India and would definitely like to give more talks there.

Who is think-cell?
