Pasted text placeholders lose indent, bullet and font settings

When copying and pasting text placeholders on slides in PowerPoint 2007, any indent, bullet and font settings that have been defined on the master slide are lost. This issue has been acknowledged as a product flaw by Microsoft.

To maintain the properties of indentation levels after copying, please use the following workaround:

  1. copy the desired text placeholder
  2. expand the Paste combobox in the Clipboard group in the tab Home
  3. click Paste Special…
  4. in the appearing dialog select Microsoft Office Graphic Object
  5. click OK
