About this job

think-cell is making a deliberate investment in our Academic Program to further accelerate growth. We provide free licensing and programming for faculty, students, and administration with the goal of seeding a new generation of loyal and enthusiastic think-cell users who in future are converted into customers.

As a Business Development Representative, you will engage with academic customers to establish new partnerships, deepen existing partnerships, and increase think-cell usage across the board. This engagement will take place through targeted outreach and programming such as training workshops and strategic marketing content. This is the ideal position for you if you’re passionate about the potential to leverage university partnerships as a mutually beneficial opportunity. In this position you will report directly to think-cell’s Director of Academic Programs.

The role and your impact

  • Call and email customers and prospects
  • Represent and promote the think-cell brand with enthusiasm
  • Meet activity based targets and achieve customer engagement at or above stated goals
  • Create and develop quality interaction with customers and users of our products developed through email, phone calls and social media
  • Develop new customer engagement opportunities through outbound research and document them document activities on our CRM platform.
  • Analyze the existing customer base to identify the right customers and users to contact
  • Schedule new business meetings with key decision-makers for partnership opportunities
  • Assist in management of student ambassador team from recruiting to monitoring progress
  • Run in-person or virtual workshops and demos for students, faculty, or administrators
  • Assist in the ideation and execution of new programming such as curriculum offerings, think-cell Alumni Program, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing assets and outreach such as an Academic newsletter
  • Assist in scaling think-cell’s academic partnership programming globally in markets such as Europe and Asia

Your profile

  • University degree
  • 1-3 years of experience, preferably in software and applications business development or inside sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, effective presentation skills
  • A 'hands-on' business development acumen that thrives in a self-directed, high-accountability environment
  • Results oriented team player able to pivot between analysis and planning to execution - calls, email, meetings
  • Excel, CRM and database query and report development
  • Prior success in business development roles, targeting an installed customer base as well as reseller channels
  • Ability to work with remote teams and management (work location is in Berlin, direct manager will be in Boston, USA)
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience developing leads for and selling desktop application and productivity software
