Phone interview

Prepare for a phone interview via Microsoft Teams

During an interview conducted over the phone, we might ask you to allow our interviewer to temporarily watch your computer screen while you solve a pen and paper task. Please note that you will not be allowed to use a compiler or a debugger during the interview.

We are using Microsoft Teams for Audio and Video as well as screen sharing. You require a web cam as well as a head set. As you will be able to use Microsoft Teams via the web browser, it is not necessary to install the Teams app.

Should any technical issues occur with screen sharing via Microsoft Teams, we will be switching to TeamViewer. Therefore, please be prepared to set up TeamViewer on your machine.

We are using the latest version of TeamViewer. Therefore, to make your machine available for a remote connection from us, you also need to run TeamViewer.

After running TeamViewer, it should show

  1. a green circle (Ready to connect),
  2. a 9 or 10 digit string (Your ID) and
  3. a 4-digit number or a 6-digit alpha-numeric string (Password).

During the interview, you will tell us the ID and Password displayed in the TeamViewer window.

At the end of the interview, we will terminate the remote session. Or, you can end the session at any time by simply clicking on the red cross in the TeamViewer window in the lower right corner. This will completely and immediately disconnect us from your computer.

Please make sure that you will have access to your email account during the interview as you will be asked to send a few emails.
