VIScon Symposium at ETH Zurich, Switzerland

October 12, 2019

Having thoroughly enjoyed VIS Kontaktparty for 7 years in a row now, we were of course delighted to accept the invitation from the association of computer science students at ETH to take part in the 2nd VIScon event.

This year’s Symposium consisted of 33 talks and 7 workshops with 500 participants from ETH as well as other technical universities.

Our Senior Developer, Sebastian Theophil, gave a talk called “Automatic Slide Layout” about an interactive, easy-to-use tool (think-cell) that could automatically perform most layout tasks. The talk delved into the mathematical details, and it included a live demonstration of the system.

In addition to the talk, the Networking Lunch was a great opportunity to speak to informally speak to the students individually about their career aspirations, Computer Science in general, and of course about working at think-cell.

Thank you, association of computer science students at ETH Zurich, for another wonderfully organized event. And we are already looking forward to VIS Kontaktparty 2020.
