EAT++ at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

What happened at this event?

Usually, a 9am class is not greeted with enthusiasm by students. This was not the case on the beautiful, sunny morning of February 16th, when we visited the Computer Science Departement at the Humboldt Universität Berlin to hold a guest lecture. Our senior software developer Valentin, a former student of the Humboldt University himself, talked about the merits of modern C++ programming in his talk C++ vs. Java and gave insights into his daily life as a software developer for think-cell.

In case you missed Valentin's talk or want to see it again.

Despite the early hour, the students showed much interest in the career opportunities think-cell has to offer. As a thank you, they were treated to donuts at the end of the talk. We always enjoy visiting talented students at the Humboldt University and will be back for the Summer Party of the Computer Science Department. See you all again soon!

Many excited Computer Science students were eager to meet us...

...and drawn in by our invitation for a "breakfast-lecture".

Valentin´s talk about C++ at think-cell had them captivated...

...and chased away the last myths on why not to use C++ for programming.

After the talk, everyone was excited to dive into the breakfast donuts...

...and to engage Valentin in further questions about his talk.

Who is think-cell?

think-cell was founded in 2002 by two computer scientists who continue to run the company. We produce graphics software that performs most of the painstaking work of creating presentation slides for our demanding users.
