Computer Science Day at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

What happened at this event?

On May 28 we finally had the pleasure to revisit the Computer Science Day at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Of course we did not come empty handed, but instead brought with us a lecture on "C++ vs. Java," invitations to our Meeting C++ Scholarship and delicious ice cream for everyone! In this lecture, HU alumnus Sebastian, senior software engineer at think-cell, discussed the many merits of C++ in comparison to Java.

As we at think-cell take particular pride in writing beautiful C++ code, we hope to have inspired our guests to join us in our endeavour to beautify the world of coding. We are glad to have had the chance to meet such a large number of students, alumni and academic staff for some well-meant Java bashing followed by a round of discussion and ice cream.

In his talk on C++ vs. Java, Sebastian...

... left his audience in no doubt...

... which of the two languages would win that face-off.

The cheerful but heated discussion that followed...

... quickly evaporated at the sight of free ice cream...

... and our exciting job opportunities in Berlin.

We were thrilled to talk to old friends, ...

... and to invite new friends to participate in our Meeting C++ scholarship!

We hope to see you all again next year!

Who is think-cell?

think-cell was founded in 2002 by two computer scientists who continue to run the company. We produce graphics software that performs most of the painstaking work of creating presentation slides for our demanding users.
