EAT++ at TU Kaiserslautern

What happened at this event?

On December 13, 2013 we paid a visit to Technische Universität Kaiserslautern. In his lecture "Layout without LaTeX: Intuitive and Interactive" Dr. Sebastian Theophil, senior software engineer at think-cell, presented research findings on the topic of automated slide layout. We were especially pleased to be able to hold this event at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern as part of the lecture "Intelligent User Interfaces Design and Implementation" by Dr. Daniel Sonntag.

After the lecture, think-cell offered up a delicious lunch buffet just outside the lecture hall. Students, academic staff, and professors of computer science, as well as DFKI employees who happened upon us, joined for lunch and conversation for hours to follow.

Sebastian's lecture on automated slide layout...

... was met with interested questions and applause.

The buffet outside the lecture hall was a welcome treat.

We were happy to wine and dine all our guests while we got a chance to meet everyone.

Professors of computer science were as welcome...

... as academic staff...

... and students to enjoy our buffet.

We answered a lot of questions about the lecture...

... about think-cell...

... and the career opportunities we offer...

... in technical support...

... and development. In short: We enjoyed our short visit to Rhineland-Palatinate.

Who is think-cell?

think-cell was founded in 2002 by two computer scientists who continue to run the company. We produce graphics software that performs most of the painstaking work of creating presentation slides for our demanding users.
