KB0020: Google Desktop Office Addin is disabled

To avoid compatibility issues between think-cell and the Google Desktop Office Addin, think-cell automatically disables this add-in in PowerPoint XP and PowerPoint 2007 (in other PowerPoint versions Google Desktop Office Addin is compatible with think-cell). Excel is not affected by this problem.

We could not find any authoritative source that explains the purpose of the Google Desktop Office Addin. However, our tests have shown that even when creating new PowerPoint files while the Google Desktop Office Addin is disabled, Google Desktop successfully indexes their content.

The Google Desktop Office Addin can be enabled by deactivating think-cell chart. To do so, please open the More menu in the think-cell toolbar and click Deactivate think-cell .

The reason for the incompatibility is a bug in PowerPoint XP and 2007, which we have reported to Microsoft. Their response is shown below. Feel free to use it when contacting Microsoft Office Support to ask for a fix.
